Manipulative therapy plays an important role in the treatment of many musculoskeletal  problems.

There are a number of professional bodies whose members provide these services.

In the hospital environment I work most closely with Physiotherapists.

Outpatient treatments are provided not only by Physios but by Osteopaths and Chiropractors.

It is not possible to predict which problems will respond best to a particular type of therapy.

In my experience many patients will visit more than one therapist in their quest to be rid of their symptoms.

The following links to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapisits and the Arthritis Council will provide the reader with more information on this subject. In particular there are some useful links to videos demonstrating exercises that may help to ease back pain.
