Will a Chiropractor or an Osteopath help me ?

The short answer is that they may.

These two types of professionals are alternative forms of manipulative therapy.

In hospital I work mainly with Physiotherapists

Osteopaths and Chiropractors are not routinely available on the NHS in this area, but are available privately.

They each have an extensive training and my guess is that there are similarities in their approach to a given problem.

I am nearly always happy for my  patients to visit these practitioners. They can be remarkably helpful.

There are exceptions. Those patients with significant neurological symptoms should be wary.

Clearly, anyone with a diagnosed fracture, infection or tumour should not be manipulated vigorously
